Looking for a grant application? You won’t find one. We’d rather sit down with you and listen to your idea to make our community better. Coffee’s on us.

Our mission is to support neighborhood generosity.  We provide small, one-time seed grants for local, community-based projects. In our experience these grants are best offered to individuals or start-up groups with few resources who are at a juncture where our small amount of financial support directed to a specific, identified need will help move them to the next level.

Some of the different areas that we provide micro-grants include :

  • Children and youth
  • Women and girls
  • Families and elders
  • Meeting basic needs: food, work, and shelter
  • Education
  • Diversity, equity, and justice
  • Environment, sustainability and local food
  • The arts
  • Vibrant communities

Bread for the Journey provides micro-grants for new start-up ideas that benefit our community. Even if you are an established nonprofit we may fund a pilot program you are interested in trying but not able to fund with existing resources. We do not fund on-going projects or programs and their related costs.

If you have a start-up idea or an idea for a pilot program, we’d love to hear from you! Some examples of what we do fund include program-related costs such as equipment, transportation, training, etc. We do not fund non-essential program costs (events, t-shirts, etc.) or staff salaries.

You can contact us by filling out the form below, emailing us or giving us a call. We look forward to hearing about your great ideas!
